The Aviators came to Atwater in the Summer of 2009. Nobody new what to expect from this fledgling team. The roster comprised on mostly junior college kids from around the area infused with players from across the country took to the field with the knowledge they would be laying the ground work for the Aviators future. Rollo Adams had agreed to coach the team only months before and as he recruited his coaching staff the Aviators were starting to resemble a team. The Aviators started strong winning 6 of 7 to begin the long season. The Aviators then went on the road and lost 5 straight games, they were starting to look like a 1st year team. When they returned home something happened, the Aviators pieces started falling into place and they finished out the season with an astonishing 34-16 overall record an amazing feat for any team let alone a 1st year club. They were crowned the P.W.B.L. Champions and set the bar rather high for future teams. You look back at the roster and you had a few key players but in the end it took everyone to contribute. The Aviators had 9 walk off wins in 2009. What ever happens next the future looks bright for the Atwater Aviators.......
